Born and raised Montanan, anything named in association with Montana gets my attention. I own a Puma SGB Teton....I live by and fish the Teton River. I also own the MKC Freezeout....I fly fish for Carp at Freezeout Lakes. So the Westslope was a no brainer. Used it to clean Goldeye, Goldeye have big tough scales and big bones. The Westslope made cleaning them very easy with little effort to touch up the edge afterwards. Only thing missing is a lanyard hole. I'm sure Josh got inspiration for it from the Grohmann DH Russell #2 Trout and Bird knife. I own one and loved it but the Westslope has bumped it down a few notches. What Josh did was improve on the #2 and with the Montana association....become my favorite small sheath knife.

I got this to add to my fishing kit originally and it had been perfect for cutting line, getting knots out and all that but I think its going to also make the perfect companion knife to handle fine work like caping come this hunting season. Definitely one of my favorite models

This knife is another home run design! While it's intended for freshwater fish—and performs great in that role—I've actually chosen to carry it every day. With a blade just slightly longer than the Mini Speedgoat, the Westslope proves to be excellent for food prep.
It's extremely comfortable in hand. The full flat grind is perfect for food preparation and delicate cutting tasks. I'm very pleased with it and plan to pick up another one someday.

This is my first MKC purchase. I will be a lifetime customer. When purchasing I had forgotten my discount code, with a quick email they were friendly and immediately refunded me.
