I am no where near a “tactical” guy. I bought this for the excellent lightweight and extremely useful blade design. I had never had a “ring” on any of my knives, but I can definitely say it’s a perfect balance between not wanting a lanyard but still want a really accessible EDC knife. I absolutely love mine! The fit, finish and ergonomics are typical of MKC which is to say that they are outstanding!

The MKC Wargoat in Coyote/Black is one of the most purpose-built fixed blades I’ve handled in a long time. The MagnaCut steel holds an incredible edge while still being easy enough to maintain, and the Cerakote finish gives it a clean, low-profile look that feels right at home in both tactical and outdoor use. The ring handle looked aggressive at first, but after carrying and using it, the retention and control make total sense.
What impressed me most is how lightweight and compact it feels without sacrificing strength. The G10 scales provide excellent grip, and the knife disappears on the belt with the Kydex sheath. Deployment is fast, secure, and intuitive.
This isn’t just a “cool-looking” knife — it’s a genuinely functional tool with thoughtful design behind it. Whether you’re into EDC, field carry, training, or just appreciate high-end American-made blades, the Wargoat absolutely delivers. MKC nailed the balance between rugged performance and refined craftsmanship. Easily one of my favorite fixed blades in my collection.
