Introducing the MKC Traditions Knives, a special collection that brings back the classic hunting knives from my days as a custom knife maker. Each knife in this lineup features a unique desert ironwood handle, renowned for its toughness and one-of-a-kind grain patterns.
The MKC Traditions Knives showcase handles crafted from desert ironwood, a material celebrated for its hard, closed grain that repels oil, blood, and water. This ensures the handle stays clean, stable, and free from warping or cracking. We’ve outfitted five of our models – the Blackfoot, the Whitetail, the Stonewall, the Jackstone, and the Super Cub – with these exceptional handles, each paired with a custom sheath from Francesca at Teton Leather.
Every piece of desert ironwood is unique, just like a fingerprint, offering a variety of grain patterns from burly to straight. This means no two knives are alike, giving you a one-of-a-kind tool that is both functional and visually stunning. The ironwood's natural resilience to extreme conditions makes it perfect for hunting knives.-

The Traditions series with the wood handle and leather sheath is my kind of knife! It has beautiful Ironwood scales and it’s just as sharp as the other MKC knives. While the Super Cub is bigger than what I need for hunting, it will do just fine for hiking and camping. Functional, but good looking too. Love all of my MKC knives!

My traditions SuperCub is my third MKC knife. The wood they chose is just beautiful. The size of the super cub fits my hand well. I view this knife more of a work of art rather than a knife BUT I will use it because it has the generations guarantee. I’m proud to know America 🇺🇸 has such an incredible knife company making these high quality knives. If you’re a woodsman or a homesteader the traditions Super Cub is for you!

Amazing knife. Sharp. The fit and finish of the polished blade really makes this knife a tool for generations. Only compliant is MKC shipped me the wrong knife the first time around. And there is no customer service number to call and settle any discrepancies. Other than that, amazing knife.
