The MKC Traditions Knives showcase handles crafted from desert ironwood, a material celebrated for its hard, closed grain that repels oil, blood, and water. This ensures the handle stays clean, stable, and free from warping or cracking. We’ve outfitted five of our models – the Blackfoot, the Whitetail, the Stonewall, the Jackstone, and the Super Cub – with these exceptional handles, each paired with a custom sheath from Francesca at Teton Leather.

Every piece of desert ironwood is unique, just like a fingerprint, offering a variety of grain patterns from burly to straight. This means no two knives are alike, giving you a one-of-a-kind tool that is both functional and visually stunning. The Stonewall’s shape is all about balance without sacrifice. It features a shallower curve than some pro skinners like the Beartooth, but this is no Tanto blade.

The large belly allows for long sweeping strokes with less punctured hides while the tip is easily accessible for non-skinning jobs.

The Stonewall Skinner is a beautifully designed blade that functions as a skinner or all-around hunting knife. The sweep of the blade allows for use as a field dressing knife as well as a skinner. Really the all-around knife design.
