Introducing the MKC Traditions Knives, a special collection that brings back the classic hunting knives from my days as a custom knife maker. Each knife in this lineup features a unique desert ironwood handle, renowned for its toughness and one-of-a-kind grain patterns.

The MKC Traditions Knives showcase handles crafted from desert ironwood, a material celebrated for its hard, closed grain that repels oil, blood, and water. This ensures the handle stays clean, stable, and free from warping or cracking. We’ve outfitted four of our models – the Speedgoat, the Blackfoot, the Whitetail, and the Jackstone with these exceptional handles, each paired with a custom sheath from Francesca at Teton Leather.

Every piece of desert ironwood is unique, just like a fingerprint, offering a variety of grain patterns from burly to straight. This means no two knives are alike, giving you a one-of-a-kind tool that is both functional and visually stunning.     Blackfoot 2.0

    Christmas in September? Yup, just received my MKC Blackfoot 2.0 and man she’s a beauty! Perfectly balanced and razor sharp!! Just the right amount of everything I was looking for. Knife snaps into the sheath just right. I’m confident my blade will never fall out. Everything from ordering, delivery updates and unboxing was perfect. Oh yeah, the unboxing is a great experience in itself. Nicely done MKC!!

    Very sharp

    My Dad used to say, "I don't care what you do—just do your best at it." Standing behind quality craftsmanship and true dedication to a craft is a rare trait these days, but Montana Knife Company must have been listening to my Dad.

    Among my oldest and most cherished possessions are a classic Buck 110 folding knife and a well-worn Bible. I received both around the same time, nearly sixty years ago, and both have served me exceptionally well throughout the decades. Truth be told, a man really only needs one Bible to guide his journey. But when it comes to knives—well, that is an entirely different story. That very first knife sparked a lifelong passion, and I have been collecting knives ever since.

    Just this morning, I put my new Mini Speedgoat to the test. It sliced right through a tough pot roast effortlessly, floating through the meat like it was warm butter. The *********, sharpness, and feel of the blade blew me away. Safe to say, I am officially hooked.!

    Since the speed goat I've added 5 more blades.

    Blackfoot 2.0, Triumph Pro, Stonewall and 2 Field Boning. 2 because, well you just have to have 2.

    Great job to the whole team—keep up the fantastic work.

    Number 21!

    So I finally got my Blackfoot Traditions knife! Wow! What a journey, my first MKC knife was a Blackfoot 2.0 with a green/black handle and the high polish magnacut blade and a leather Teton sheath…bought 3 more Blackfoot models for myself, and sent one to my son a couple months ago…he couldn’t decide what knife he wanted so I just sent him a Blackfoot 2.0 as a starting point and he loved it. Didn’t think I really needed a Traditions version, but then I got a chance to hold one…and see one…and actually drew blood poking my finger with the ultra sharp tip lol! Well, once you draw blood it’s all over right? So my 1st MKC knife was a Blackfoot 2.0 and now my 21st MKC knife is a Traditions Blackfoot 2.0! I guess it’s only appropriate considering I grew up just 45 minutes from MKC headquarters lol! If you are contemplating a MKC knife, start with the Blackfoot and grow from there!

    The Blackfoot 2.0 is perfect for EDC!

    The Blackfoot has been my go to knife since it arrived, it’s been great for field dressing and everyday use.

    The provided Kydex holster works great for horizontal carry on my belt and chest pack and secures the knife well.

    Well worth the investment.
