The MKC Traditions Knives showcase handles crafted from desert ironwood, a material celebrated for its hard, closed grain that repels oil, blood, and water. This ensures the handle stays clean, stable, and free from warping or cracking. We’ve outfitted four of our models – the Speedgoat, the Blackfoot, the Whitetail, and the Jackstone with these exceptional handles, each paired with a custom sheath from Francesca at Teton Leather.

Every piece of desert ironwood is unique, just like a fingerprint, offering a variety of grain patterns from burly to straight. This means no two knives are alike, giving you a one-of-a-kind tool that is both functional and visually stunning. The ironwood's natural resilience to extreme conditions makes it perfect for hunting knives.

    Beautiful Knife

    I love this knife and I’m really happy with my purchase. The desert ironwood handles are smooth and gorgeous. My only gripe is there are small scratches/imperfections along the length of the spine that I wouldn’t expect on a knife with this level of craftsmanship

    Blackfoot: Awesome Knife

    I recently purchased a Blackfoot 2.0 Orange & Black from MKC. This knife far exceeded all expectations that I had. Excellent detail and craftsmanship. Beautiful design, fits perfectly in my hand, and is razor sharp! Company is second to none - I highly recommend MKC!

    First MKC knife

    This was my first MKC knife so why not go with the flagship Blackfoot 2.0 with orange and blank handle. Feels great in the hand and is amazingly sharp. Absolutely love this knife and was my EDC until I got my second MKC.
