After specializing in ultralight knives for ounce-counting backcountry hunters, we wanted to create a blade with even more versatility. Designed to take on any task a hunter may face, the Stonewall Blackfoot Skinner is truly a do-it-all hunting knife. Perfectly curved for skinning, sharp enough for cutting, and stout enough for chopping, the Stonewall blade is as all-purpose as it gets.
As a Lincoln, Montana native, our founder and Master Bladesmith Josh Smith grew up hunting and fishing in this remarkable region. The Stonewall Blackfoot Skinner fittingly takes its name from two of the area’s standout landmarks: Stonewall Mountain, bordering the Scapegoat Wilderness to the north; and the Blackfoot River, bordering the Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex to the south.
That’s a direct quote from one of my husband’s hunting buddies. I bough this knife as a gift for him to take on a reunion/hunting trip to Montana, with some of his fellow veterans. They took two Buffalo, and this knife held its original factory edge all the way through field dressing and butchering the meat. This knife impressed a bunch of VERY hard-to-impress Marines and Rangers. Would absolutely recommend.
Great craftsmanship has been put into this knife!
I had purchased this knife for myself. My father in law used it to break down a calf elk in the field and loved it. Normally very much a no frills person who will get by with whatever he has, he loved the knife and immediately wanted one. If i had one knife to process an animal it would be this one.
This knife is amazing, perfect design for skinning. Thank you guys for the great knives and fast reliable shipping! Jeff T
It’s hard to leave a review regarding how this knife will last over time being that it’s a month or so old. What I can say is as soon as you take it out of the box you can feel the American Workers that this Small Business employs who have handled it from the very beginning to the point where it’s put into the box, if that makes sense. Nothing but quality. You can just feel it. I love that MKC supports other small American businesses by bringing their products in and offering them on the site. Everything offered by MKC is American Made. You just don't get that anymore. I love it. Worth every single penny IMO.
The knife has been awesome on a few fishing trips I’ve been on. From dicing some mullet to gutting some trout it’s been great. I’m confident that it can handle anything I will need it for.
I can’t wait for the tactical line of blades that Josh mentioned would be hitting sometime next year. I know for sure anything I purchase from MKC will have the highest quality and pride put into it. Did I mention this is an ALL AMERICAN SMALL BUSINESS! Bringing back American manufacturing and craftsmanship one knife at a time. Can’t get enough.
Follow them on Instagram like I do and you’ll find other Small American businesses on their page that are pure gems!
Anyway, as a young father of two boys I cant wait to pass these down to them thirty years from now. Might be one of the last American made products of quality that isn’t a mass produced item that we’ll see. Best part, these knives are going to be considered some of the earliest generations being that MKC is still so young and growing incredibly fast! Hopefully Josh can figure out a way that we can identify the age of the knife by stamping/printing something small on the heel or sheath so when my grandchildren hold it they can look up exactly how old it is. Like D23 would be great for mine. D for the quarter and 23 for the year. Nothing cooler than knowing you’re holding something that someone made before you were born!
Well enough said. If you’re on the fence, just jump. If your not happy with knife let me know and I’ll take it off you.
