ABOUT TETON LEATHER COMPANY AND FRANCESCA
From a true artistic beginning apprenticing with a master jewelry maker, to creating beautiful knives as a bladesmith, Francesca found her calling with the art of leather making. Her love for the craft began when one of her knife collectors asked her to make a high-end custom leather sheath for an art knife he had procured. Through trial and error, she created a beautiful piece of art, remembering “When my concept became a reality, and what I saw in my head was here physically in front of me, that was a life changing moment.”
She has been chasing that creativity induced high she felt in 2014 ever since. Designing custom leather goods out of a variety of exotic leathers, such as invasive python and alligator. “Often nature is imitated in the modern world” Francesca says “Nothing can truly capture the precise and perfect beauty that comes from natural materials. Each species offers its own texture, thickness, durability, pattern and characteristics, it’s the perfect challenge for me.”
Francesca is an avid outdoorsman, from hunting, fishing, camping, snowboarding, and surfing, she loves being outside in nature with her daughter Olivia. She often says, “When I’m not working on leather or designing, I’m outside pulling inspiration from the mountains and wildlife around me, then I take that home and create, it’s a cycle that I go through and it’s really fulfilling.”
Bringing to the table a versatile range of professional talent, Francesca is a full-time designer and leather artisan, specializing in high end custom bespoke products. She excels with hand dying hides and color matching, beautifully wrapped skulls, and design and concept consulting for some of the best brands in the industry. Her team of skilled and thoroughly trained leather artisans are proud to stand on her expectation of meticulous detail and deliver the best leather products on the market.

Everything from MKC is top notch and this is really no different but I think my card wallet is probably a little different. It’s considerably lighter than the pictures, the bison skull embossing is slightly cockeyed, and it’s not as trim as the pictures. Overall it’s still solid but just not quite perfect like the rest of MKC.

I have an Orvis front pocket leather wallet that I love. When I saw the MKC bison wallet it reminded me of the Orvis and I always like to have 2 of my best functioning items to prolong their lifespan and obviate the need for an urgent purchase in case they get lost or damaged. (I rotate both dress and casual shoes by day of the week for the same reasons). The MKC wallet is tight at the start but loosens up over time. It’s a good idea to be snug so ID or credit cards don’t fall out. I can easily get 5 cards and 6 bills (folded over in thirds) in the wallet. This, like the Orvis, will last forever. I have 2 sons so I can give one to each down the road.

I bought a second wallet to give as a gift after having mine for some time now. For me, it's the perfect sized front pocket wallet. I've owned a few different styles and materials from other brands but this one is my favorite. I don't need fancy switches or levers to get my cards out either. I keep 4 cards in main pocket and 1 on the outside with some cash occasionally. Nice, simple and compact. Quality leather and the stitching is holding up great.

After an incident with a normal back pocket wallet and a motorcycle ride (it oddly wasn't lost on the bike, but at a dive bar on the ride) I vowed to never carry a back pocket wallet again. There are a lot of options out there for front pocket wallets, but none of them have the MKC bison skull logo on them, until now. This is great for anyone that's wants to simplify their life by getting rid of a bulky wallet and carrying it in their front pocket for more security. The leather work is fantastic (and smells great) and it has enough room for a few cards and the some cash...all you really need. If these come back in stock, you should really grab one or two.
