Measuring 10″, the Super Cub is our longest and strongest hunting blade, capable of taking on any job you encounter in the field — from field dressing, gutting, and deboning to fieldcraft tasks like chopping and batoning wood.
The Super Cub knife is designed to withstand the toughest environments. It takes its name from the Piper Super Cub airplane, known for transporting hunters and adventurers to the most remote backcountry locations. You can tell a lot of thought goes into these knives, and the kydex sheath is top notch. So many knife companies skimp on the sheath but not MKC. The SuperCub will be a great backcountry blade but not too heavy for the backpack.

Got to use the Magnacut Super Cub on an Arkansas whitetail and it was more than up to the task. Held a great edge thru the whole process and the mirror blade with orange and black handle goes well with red.

I recently purchased this knife on a high recommendation from my best friend, Bobby Campbell in Seymour, TN prior to heading out for my third attempt at an Elk in CO. I have read and heard about your knives over the years from other hunters including various publications, but I had what I thought was plenty good knives in my arsenal....so I thought! Long story short, Sat. Oct 25th on opening day, I was up about 9,880' in Gunnison National Forest about 4 miles from camp and was final successful, fortunate, and grateful to take down my first 5x5 Bull Elk. Once my party caught up to me to help with the processing, it was soon apparent that my Magnacut Super Cub wasn't just another knife. We basically processed the entire bull as the other's knives just weren't cutting it, literally (LOL). We took turns passing the MKC around and everyone was just blown away and asking about the knife and couldn't believe how it was holding an edge and going through everything we were throwing at it! Also, the comfort and balance of the knife was just like an extension of my hand. Not one time did I feel like I didn't have full control of it. We finished the process and packed out. Back at camp were we set up for the week, I cleaned the knife up. At dinner, the discussion over a hot meal wasn't my first Elk, but rather the knife! How dare you steel my thunder (LOL). There's nothing quite like being 9,880 feet up, 4 miles from camp, and knowing your blade is going to perform flawlessly when you need it to deliver.
It's fantastic to hear that razor-sharp edge retention held up through processing an entire bull elk AND a complete euro skull prep without needing any touch-up - that's exactly the kind of relentless performance we engineered the Magnacut steel to provide! The fact that your whole hunting party was passing it around and marveling at how it was outperforming everything else really shows what this steel composition can do when the work gets serious.
We put tremendous care into the balance and ergonomics of the Super Cub, and knowing it felt like an extension of your hand with full control throughout that demanding field work means we hit exactly what we were aiming for.
