The MKC Culinary Collection features The Big Horn Chef, The Smith River Santoku, and the Little Bighorn Petty. All three knives were born from the collaboration between MKC Founder & Master Bladesmith, Josh Smith and renowned knife maker Mareko Maumasi — with his extensive knowledge as a bladesmith and experience in the restaurant industry.

 The knives are made with Magnacut Stainless Steel and finished with a black PVD coating for optimal durability. The handles are constructed of G-10 and contoured for a comfortable grip and come in your choice of three colors: Black, MKC Orange, and Red.

Mareko designed each culinary knife's cutting edge profile so that the entire blade-edge rests flat on a cutting surface.

It gives the handle a nice upsweep to provide much more knuckle clearance than you typically see.

Versatile Blade Shapes

Mareko and Josh designed the culinary with a variety of blade shapes that are most useful in a kitchen setting.

Owners can easily use them for fine chopping work, cutting large pieces of meat or precision work like coring an apple. The knives also have wide blades making it perfect for scooping food off the cutting board.

    Beautiful set... Wicked Sharp!

    MKC Culinary Set Amazing

    Apparently one Montana Knife Company Culinary Set just isn’t enough… because once you use it, you immediately justify a second “for the outside kitchen.” Totally reasonable, right?

    These knives are the real deal—razor sharp, beautifully balanced, and built like they could survive a Yellowstone winter. Whether I’m slicing Tri-Tip at the BBQ or pretending I’m a professional chef inside, they make everything feel effortless (and a little more badass).

    Fit, finish, performance—top tier across the board. Honestly, the hardest part is deciding which set gets used more… and explaining why I needed two.

    10/10 would absolutely enable this decision again. And honestly? Zero regrets.

    Great culinary set

    I recently started purchasing knives from MKC for hunting and general uses and decided to purchase the culinary set for in the kitchen.
