The MKC Culinary Collection features The Big Horn Chef, The Smith River Santoku, and the Little Bighorn Petty. All three knives were born from the collaboration between MKC Founder & Master Bladesmith, Josh Smith and renowned knife maker Mareko Maumasi — with his extensive knowledge as a bladesmith and experience in the restaurant industry.
The knives are made with Magnacut Stainless Steel and finished with a black PVD coating for optimal durability. The handles are constructed of G-10 and contoured for a comfortable grip and come in your choice of three colors: Black, MKC Orange, and Red.

Great knives that are thinner than I expected but work outstandingly well. The leather carrying case is a big bonus that will last a lifetime. I now bring these knives with me when driving on vacation or to our second home. I got the orange and black to go with my mini-speed goat which fits great in the carrying case. The orange and black make these knives easily recognizable as MKC to those in the know.

These knives didn’t disappoint! Love the weight and heft, they guide right thru tomatoes, and meat. The leather wrap is very cool, thick and smells amazing lol.

Well, not really it’s been an amazing 23 years, however, these knives are something I should’ve purchased for my wife a long time ago. At least I claim they were for her! We both love them! Wish we had invested in GOOD knives decades ago.

I recently bought my first MKC culinary knife set and couldn’t be happier. I first heard about Montana Knife Company on the Dave Ramsey Show and was immediately drawn to their story and commitment to American-made craftsmanship.
The quality is outstanding. These knives are razor sharp right out of the box and feel perfectly balanced in hand. You can tell a lot of care goes into their design and build. They make everyday cooking so much easier and more enjoyable.
I also really appreciate that they’re made in the USA by a company with a clear mission and values. It’s rare to find that combination of performance, durability, and authenticity in a product.
If you’re on the fence, I highly recommend MKC. Their culinary knife set has already become one of the best kitchen investments I’ve ever made.
