I final got to field test my Live Wild edition Elkhorn. Only fitting to do it on a Maui Axis deer. Very sharp, skins like a dream. I didn’t expect it to work as well as it does for opening small joints for how wide the blade is and not as fine a point. Still, no problem. I really like how the handle feels in my hand with different holds while breaking down an animal. I didn’t think I’d find any other knife I like as much as my MKC Triumph, but I think I have.

I have wanted an Elkhorn from the first time I saw the design. When I saw the drop announced I made sure I got one. When it arrived I wasn't disappointed. It is a great size and weight. It feels great in the hand with good balance. The only knock on it is the sheath. I have one other MKC blade and it comes in and out of the sheath fine. This Elkhorn was so tight I had to loosen the screw to get it to release. Even with adjusting it still isn't great coming in and out of the sheath

The Elkhorn is a phenomenal knife. The first time I used it I had to intentionally slow down the field dressing process. The ergonomics are unrivaled. The size and shape leave nothing to be desired. I am grateful to be able to share memories and harvests with my kids. MKC has increased the joy of those events.

What can I say this is my 4th MKC knife. I love it it’s a perfect size for me. Great hunting knife. Perfect for anywhere really in a pack, pocket or on your belt. It will ride nicely and quietly till you need it. Always ready to work. Made with quality materials that will last my lifetime but most likely my great grandchildren’s. All of my MKC knives will be passed down to my kids and then grandkids so they can all enjoy them as well. These are not knives you get at the hardware store or HD or Lowe’s. They are tools that will last many lifetimes with a little bit of care. Thank you Josh and MKC for making awesome knives and tools. I collect knives and have for 48 years and these are at the top of my collection. I have knives that cost twice as much but I value my MKC knives much more because I know what they are made out of. I know how they are made and I know they will take anything I throw at them. Rock on MKC! Thank you!
