The MKC X Fieldcraft Survival EDC Knife was designed by Master Bladesmith Josh Smith and the survival experts from Fieldcraft Survival. Over a year of research and development went into this blade. This knife was designed to be the ultimate EDC (Every Day Carry) blade. It can be easily concealed for self-defense or carried on your pack or waistband for bushcraft-style use.
As previously mentioned, this knife is designed to be an EDC blade. It can be carried inside the pocket of most pants with just the end of the handle exposed. This knife can be carried on either side of the body for utility or defense. It is small enough to be carried every day but also large enough to be a real tool that can be used harder than the folding knife in your pocket. The blade steel is Magnacut Stainless Steel and the design is heavily inspired by spearpoint blades used from various makers in the bushcraft realm.

I was curious to see if all the hype was justified about the Fieldcraft EDC knife. I love the overall design, it’s the perfect size for a general purpose carry blade. It’s just a great looking knife. It feels great in the hand, the blade is super sharp. My sample however does not exhibit the finish I expected on a knife in this price range. The spine still has markings from when the blank was cut out. Also, there is a flat spot ground on the G10 at the lower gimping, I guess so the gimping is proud of the handle. It just looks a little like a post production correction. I have a very similar knife, the Norden Ascent, that is considerably less expensive and has a better overall finish.
The sheath is a nice concept but it’s a bit finicky when sheathing the blade. Additionally the clip feels like it will tear up pocket edges and waistbands rather quickly. Once they become available, I will purchase the alternate sheath.

We are glad that overall you like the knife! I believe we already covered some of these things with you in our email thread, but the markings on the spine are from the laser cut and does not affect the functionality of the steel, and this is common with our Magnacut blades. The jimping that is more pronounced where the G10 has the flat spot was designed this way and is not a correction. We appreciate your honest feedback and review!

Finally pulled the trigger on getting one of these on this last release. Slept on the pre-release batch on 11/29 and got one when they released on the 11/30/2023. Looking forward to putting this knife through the ringer in the woods of south Georgia and coastal Florida both hunting and fishing. This will become my EDC fixed blade for years to come I'm sure! Thanks MKC and Fieldcraft for collaborating on a great knife! Happy to support USA made products and companies!
