The Speedgoat is one of our most popular knives because of its weight, thinness, and toughness. Meet its little brother, the Mini Speedgoat. The Mini Speedgoat is tough enough to tackle the same tasks as the Speedgoat, but the smaller, thinner, and lighter design makes it even more ideal for non-hunting purposes.

The near 3-inch blade means the Mini Speedgoat is legal for open carry in most U.S. Cities. And in our latest version, we’re making it even more practical for your go-to fixed-blade EDC knife. We also added a stonewash finish to the blade for rugged EDC and hunt use.

Stonewashed MagnaCut Stainless Steel Blade

As a cryogenically heat-treated stainless steel, MAGNACUT provides the perfect blend of toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance.

Unlike other stainless steel blades, MAGNACUT can be easily resharpened — even by novice knife owners. More wear-resistant than other stainless steels, and more corrosion-resistant than carbon steel, MAGNACUT is in a class of its own.

Ultralight, Ultra-Thin Design

With the Mini Speedgoat, we took the ultralight design of the Speedgoat a step further. While it’s only 15% shorter, it’s over 30% lighter than its big brother.

The skeletonized, paracord-wrapped handle sheds ounces and reduces hand fatigue. The Mini Speedgoat 2.0 is also incredibly thin — 0.090″ at its thickest point and 0.01″ at the edge, making it incredibly easy to sharpen, maintain, and carry. And we incorporated your feedback and added a larger fingerguard to protect your hand from slipping on the blade.
Trail Companion

Bear spray and firearms can be incredibly effective for self-defense on the trail, but they’re often too cumbersome to carry — especially on intense hikes and trail runs.

The Mini Speedgoat clips comfortably in running shorts’ pockets or on leggings, bra straps, and heart rate monitors. This gives a reliable measure of defense without hindering movement or performance.

550 Paracord Handle

Wrapping the handle in 6.5 feet of 550 paracord was just as much for minimizing weight as maximizing versatility.

It can fix a broken boot lace, tie down a tent, hang meat in a tree, or help in any number of unexpected, emergency situations. And when the paracord is removed from the handle, the Mini Speedgoat still fits securely in its sheath.
Redesigned MKC Open Carry Sheath 2.0

Each Mini Speedgoat comes with a USA Made, Custom MKC Kydex sheath. Our newly designed sheath features a built-in retention screw to customize blade tension and allow for handle-down carrying.

We’ve also reduced the size and weight to make it easier to carry, which means it’s: 

  • 35% Lighter 
  • 8% Shorter
  • 16% Narrower

The Mini Speedgoat sheath comes with a fabric-grabbing metal pocket clip features a retainer tab that keeps the sheath secured to pants, shorts, leggings, sports bras, or MOLLE webbing when removing the knife for use.

    ONE AWESOME EDC TOOL

    I have and carry a Speedgoat personally so the logical decision was to purchase and gift a Mini Speedgoat.

    The best way I can describe this knife is the perfect edc tool. It carries unbelievably comfortable and one barely even notices it's there till needed. I just can't believe that you can turn 7" of metal in such an awesome fidget tool that can safe your life.

    I can't recommend this knife enough to those who look to carry discreetly. Superb product from one of a kind American manufacturer. Just freaking get it.

    Perfect EDC

    bought this for my wife so she would quit running off with mine lol. I love everything MKC makes and this is no exception. Definitely doing America 🇺🇸 proud. My wife did want it in hot pink so I had to do a quick re-wrap. That’s part of what makes the speed goats so cool. Totally customizable to make it perfect for anyone.

    Awesome Blade

    I bought the knife right before my speed goat hunt in New Mexico. I will tell you that it had no difficulties performing on three separate goats that weekend. My good friend also fell in Love with the knife and let’s just say deals were made and I am now in search of a replacement. Will be definitely getting another knife from Montana Knife co soon.
