Great handle and blade length and good balanced weight, which leads to an awesome feel in the hand when using it. The bolster/jimping are pronounced enough to get a comfortable grip when choking up on the blade for more precise cuts. I have processed about a dozen grouse so far and its holding its edge beautifully. Blade came with a slight "bend" in the tip (could just be the edge grind) but that hasn't slowed it down yet. I'm excited to get this knife into some caribou and larger game up here in Alaska. Definitely my go-to knife in the collection now.

My husband first purchased a stoned goat. I got this Flattail for my him for our anniversary- he surprised me with the Blackfoot 2.0- I was able to break mine in right- just saying. All three knifes are top quality

Treated myself to a Flattail ahead of deer season to see what the hype was about. Went with the orange meat eater edition incase I dropped the knife and needed it to be easier to spot. I tagged out this year and this knife made light work of the process skinning and stripping meat off the bones. Came razor sharp out of the box and held its edge through multiple deer. Cannot recommend the knife enough

This blade is well worth the money! It cuts like a hot knife through butter. A perfect light weight field dressing knife. I was fortunate enough to test it out the day after I came in and I'm a fan. This was my first knife from MKC but it won't be my last!

Ive found my flattail has become my go to knife in my MKC collection. Fine enough point for small work on birds and trout but has a enough beef to work on larger game as well.
