The MKC X Fieldcraft Survival EDC Knife was designed by Master Bladesmith Josh Smith and survival experts Mike Glover and Kevin Estela. Over a year of research and development went into this blade. This knife was designed to be the ultimate EDC (Every Day Carry) blade. It can be easily concealed for self-defense or carried on your pack or waistband for bushcraft-style use.
As previously mentioned, this knife is designed to be an EDC blade. It can be carried inside the pocket of most pants with just the end of the handle exposed. This knife can be carried on either side of the body for utility or defense. It is small enough to be carried every day but also large enough to be a real tool that can be used harder than the folding knife in your pocket. The blade steel is Magnacut, a proven workhorse, and the design is heavily inspired by spearpoint blades used from various makers in the bushcraft realm.
The Fieldcraft EDC knife also has bird and trout vibes, and those familiar with the MKC line will see clear similarities in the handle design and construction of our other hunting knives. Josh and Kevin wanted to provide a blade design that works well for many different applications and a construction style that would hold up to actual use. Whether you are using this knife in the field while fishing and hunting or carrying it with self defense in mind, you can be sure this knife will stand up to the toughest tasks.
It’s important to Josh and Kevin that we provide tools that can be used in various ways. Even though this knife was designed with self-defense and concealment in mind, we also know that it’s incredibly rare that this knife will be needed for that. We also wanted to make a blade that could be useful in the field, around the home, or at work.
Concealable Kydex Sheath
Each MKC X Fieldcraft Survival EDC knife comes with a Kydex sheath that can be easily concealed under your clothes or tucked inside of your waistband. The Kydex sheath has a built-in fabric grabbing clip that swivels for perfect placement and comfort. Also the Kydex sheath has a special indexing tab to make it easy to return your blade into the sheath without looking down at the sheath.

I purchased my first Fieldcraft Survival EDC knife from MKC back in January 2023. I brought it with me a month later when I went on scuba dive vacation to The Cayman Islands. I used it quite a bit on the boat and the island to cut rope and coconuts and anything else that I needed to cut! It was FLAWLESS!! It was so impressive that the boat captain who was a good friend kept commenting on how it was the perfect knife for carrying in and around the boat. I then gifted it to him figuring that I could order another when the dropped again. I had to wait, but I jumped on this knife when they next dropped! I just got back from hiking in the White Mountains with my dog. I carried my knife every day on the trail and when swimming with my dog in the cascades. It performed like a champ and is so comfortable to carry, I often forget that I am have it on! As usual, another phenomenal Montana Knife Company product! You all ROCK!! Thanks!

The fit and finish of this blade is excellent, the edge is clean and sharp, and just holding it in my hand gives me confidence that I can rely on this tool for whatever task is appropriate. The size is a great balance to give it a wide range of applications and it is comfortable to carry every day between my belt and pants at the 9 o'clock.
